The Haunted Flight
Abhijeet, a 28-year-old software engineer, hailed from a middle-class family. He had always been a committed and practical individual. His life revolved around codes, algorithms, and technological innovations. Abhijeet had made Bangalore his home, where he worked for a prominent tech company.
Abhijeet held a strong disbelief towards paranormal activities, His mother's stories of spooky occurrences were met with raised eyebrows and logical explanations. Despite growing up surrounded by tales of the supernatural, Abhijeet had always brushed them off as myths and imagination. However, fate had a different plan for him. While embarking on a flight from Delhi to Bangalore, Abhijeet encountered a departed soul.
He had just boarded the flight. The cabin lights were dimmed. He was very tired so he decided to stretch his legs. Abhijeet strolled to the back of the plane. As he reached the backside, he encountered another man, a fellow traveler, standing in the shadows.
Just to kill time Abhjeet went close to the guy. Casually they shook hands and got engaged in some conversation. The two were sharing bits of their lives, laughter, and stories from their journeys. After a few minutes, the man bid Abhijeet farewell, disappearing into the darkness of the plane.
Abhijeet returned to his seat. He noticed that the lady who was sitting beside him was engrossed in a photo album. Under the soft glow of her reading lights, she was busy flipping some pictures from the photo album.
Fascinated, he couldn't help but glance at the images, only to realize that they were snapshots of the man he had just conversed with at the back of the plane.
"Oh, I just met him behind. He's friendly," Abhijeet remarked, thinking it was a pleasant coincidence.
The lady fixed him with an intense gaze. "Are you sure? Abhijeet said yes, just a few minutes back we two were conversing. The lady said, I can't believe you, he's my husband, and yes, he's on this plane, but he's in the coffin below in the cargo area. I'm taking his dead body back home.
Abhijeet's mind was thrown into a whirlwind of disbelief and shock upon knowing from his fellow passenger that the man he had conversed with just moments ago was a departed soul.
Abhijeet, still in a state of shock, turned to the lady seated beside him. In a shaky voice, he asked for her name. She introduced herself as Suhasini. In an attempt to capture the truth, he requested to see the photo album she was holding, hoping that flipping through its pages would bring clarity to the otherworldly meeting he had just experienced.
Suhasini passed the photo album to Abhijeet, opening up about her late husband's life. While she was talking about him Abhijeet, sensed the quiet but definite presence of the soul of the departed man, as if his spirit was watching over his grieving wife.
As the plane touched down in Bangalore, Abhijeet offered his support to Suhasini in the journey of laying her husband to rest. Ultimately their paths separated, but the impact of that night's unforgettable journey remained carved in his heart, forever changing his viewpoint on the mysteries of life.
As Abhijeet returned to his life in Bangalore, the memory of that fateful flight lingered in his thoughts. The experience had left him with a sense of curiosity he couldn't shake off. He started spending his free time researching paranormal phenomena, trying to understand the unexplained events that people around the world claimed to have witnessed.
He delved into books, articles, and documentaries, seeking answers to questions he had never seriously considered before. His newfound interest in the supernatural drew the attention of his friends and colleagues. They were surprised to see the rational Abhijeet exploring topics that were far removed from his typical conversations about coding and technology. Some teased him, while others were genuinely intrigued by his journey into the unknown.
One evening, as Abhijeet sat in his small apartment, engrossed in his research, he received a call from his mother. She sounded both excited and surprised. "Abhijeet, you won't believe what happened!" his mother exclaimed. "There have been some strange occurrences in our old house. Lights flickering, doors opening on their own. I even heard footsteps when I was alone."
Abhijeet's heart raced. He had come a long way from dismissing such stories, and now he was faced with the possibility that there might be more to his mother's experiences than he had initially thought.
Curiosity got the better of him, and he decided to visit his family in Delhi. He wanted to see for himself if there was any truth to his mother's claims. Arriving at his childhood home, Abhijeet couldn't help but feel a mixture of apprehension and excitement.
Over the next few days, Abhijeet observed the strange occurrences firsthand. Lights flickered unexpectedly, doors creaked open without any apparent reason, and an eerie feeling hung in the air. His analytical mind kicked in, trying to find logical explanations for each phenomenon. But as he witnessed the events multiply, he couldn't deny that there was something inexplicable happening.
One night, as he lay in his old bedroom, he felt an unusual chill in the air. The room seemed to darken, even though the moonlight filtered through the window. Then, he heard a whisper, as if carried by the wind. His heart raced, and he couldn't ignore the goosebumps that prickled his skin.
"Who's there?" he called out, half-expecting no response. To his astonishment, a faint voice replied, "Abhijeet..."He sat up in bed, his eyes wide with disbelief. The voice seemed to echo around him, carrying an uncanny familiarity. It was the voice of the man from the airplane, the man he had conversed with before he realized he was speaking to a departed soul.
As the days passed, Abhijeet continued to experience unexplainable phenomena. He began to document his observations, hoping to find patterns and explanations that would align with his rational understanding. But deep down, he knew that he was on the verge of discovering a truth that transcended logic.
Abhijeet's journey from skepticism to acceptance had come full circle. He was no longer the practical engineer who dismissed stories of the paranormal. Instead, he had become a seeker of truths beyond the ordinary, a bridge between the world he understood and the mysteries that beckoned to him from the shadows.
As he continued to explore the unknown, Abhijeet realized that life was a tapestry woven with threads of the inexplicable, the unexplained, and the awe-inspiring. And in his quest for understanding, he had found a new purpose—one that allowed him to embrace both the tangible and the intangible, the scientific and the mystical, in a harmonious balance that defined his journey forward.
